Women's Health & Pregnancy

Women's Health refers to comprehensive women’s health care as well as health issues that are unique to women, including:
  • Pregnancy
  • Menopause
  • Conditions of the Female Organs
Be sure to get early and regular prenatal care to ensure you have a healthy pregnancy. You should also get recommended breast cancer, cervical cancer, and bone density screenings.
Our goal is to ensure the health and readiness of all women at every stage of life.

Women’s Health Services 

The Women’s Health clinic is staffed with nurse practitioners, registered nurses, medical technicians, and administrative personnel. Although the 87th MDG does not provide obstetric care, we provide specialized care in gynecology. We strive to teach our patients positive health practices through an understanding of available community and facility resources. Routine and specialty women’s health care to active duty, dependents, and TRICARE Prime enrollees. Other patients are seen on a space-available basis. Initial appointments for gynecology services require a consult from the primary care manager. Available gynecological services include general annual exams with pelvic exams and pap smears, follow-up, preoperative and postoperative surgical evaluations and treatments.

Care includes, but is not limited to:

  • Birth control counseling
  • STI testing/treatment
  • IUD and Nexplanon insertions
  • Pap smears
  • Well woman exams
  • Cervical dysplasia evaluation with colposcopies
  • Infertility
  • Mammography referrals
  • Preconception counseling
  • Hormone replacement therapy
  • Aging and Menopause
  • Evaluation of abnormal bleeding
  • Amenorrhea, or lack of menses
  • Abnormal discharge
  • Urinary incontinence
  • Pelvic pain
  • Post-menopausal bleeding 

OB Services

OB care is provided off base. OB referrals are provided by Primary Care Manager once pregnancy has been confirmed.

Contraceptive Management

If you would like to start or change your birth control method, Women’s Health Clinic can prescribe birth control pills / patch / ring, and place long-acting contraceptive devices (e.g., Nexplanon or IUD). TRICARE Covered Services

TRICARE covers well-woman exams annually for women under age 65 with no cost-share or copayment.
